OTR tyres are developed to handle any on-farm equipment with their range of LSW tyres introduced as far back as 2017 and continually improved

Farm equipment manufacturers continue to introduce larger, heavier, and more powerful equipment, but the space in which to fit the tyres has not changed.
This has meant the tyre industry has had to move toward technologies that allow the same size tyre to carry heavier loads at lower inflation pressures.
The latest innovation in this space is Low Sidewall Technology (LSW).
LSW tyres have a larger rim diameter and smaller sidewall than a standard tyre, while maintaining the same outside diameter and weight load capacity at 40% less inflation pressure than standard tyres.
OTR introduced US-manufactured LSW tyres to Australia in 2017.

OTR National Product Manager & Business Development – Agriculture, Daryl Hynoski, explains how the lower pressure not only minimises soil compaction but also has a whole host of other benefits.
“LSW reduces the bouncing and road loping, which results in increased transport speeds between paddocks.
Operators have found they provide a smooth ride in the paddock and on the road, offering increased stability. They can also help lower fuel costs.
“The LSW build reduces sidewall deflection, which helps increase the rolling circumference for improved fuel economy,” Daryl adds.

LSW’s provide a superior alternative to duals, according to Daryl Hynoski, “A common factory set up on mechanical front wheel assist tractors is running dual 480/80R50s on the rear and 420/85R34 duals on the front. The normal total contact area of those tyres is about 55.27m (2176 inches) and you’d normally run about 12 psi on the rear and 8 psi on the front over those eight tyres.
“An alternative set up for that would be LSW1100/45R46 single rears and LSW1000/45R32 single fronts to give you a big single wider footprint. The total contact area runs at about 69m (2716 inches) so there’s about a 20% improvement on ground coverage, and you’re running about 10 psi in the rear and 6 psi in the front.
OTR offer nationwide after-sales support on their LSW tyres.
“We originally brought the LSW technology out to Australia. We understand it and we’ve got the experience to fully service the product,” Daryl concluded.
OTR also carry a comprehensive range of their in-house range of TerraTyre and the German engineered Uniglory for the more budget conscious customers.
